The physical strength and heat insulation properties of the protective char, provides a high level of performance against flame and convective heat ignition sources. Proban® based upholstery and curtains provide flame protections from 
  • Open flame (match equivalent)
  • Cigarettes, and 
  • Larger ignition sources having a high calorific value
Proban® fabrics  for Upholstery and Curtaining meet the following requirements:
  • BS 5852 : Part 1 :1979 after the water soaking and drying procedure set out in BS 5651: 1978 
  • United Kingdom, Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety)Regulations 1988 Amended (Statutory Instrument 1988 No. 1324.
  • BS 5867-2 : 2007, Type C after fifty washes in accordance with EN ISO 10528
            - For Type C testing samples are tested in accordance with EN ISO 15025: 2002 using Procedure A (surface ignition)
            - Testing is carried out using 5 seconds, 15 seconds, 20 seconds and 30 seconds ignition times
